Abstract

Abstract. A disjunct occurrence of Plagiochasma rupestre is reported for the first time from the Appalachian Mountains of Virginia. The occasion of its discovery is recounted, and the habitat is described. The occurrence is discussed in relation to other long-range disjunctions known from the Appalachians.
