Abstract

Summary The placental transfer of the cholecystographicagent Teridax is demonstrated by the finding of very high and sustained levels of serum PBI in the offspring of mothers who had received this dye. Two cases are reported in which both mother and child had greatly elevated PBI and total iodine levels several years after the administration of this iodinated compound. A comparative review of other contrast media is briefly presented.
