Placental pathology associated with lower fetal fraction on non invasive prenatal testing

Abstract

Low fetal fraction (FF) in the absence of aneuploidy has been associated with low birthweight, preterm birth (PTB) and preeclampsia, potentially mediated through the placenta. The aim of this study is to characterize if placental histology is associated with low FF in order to elucidate the potential intrauterine mechanisms underlying adverse outcomes.
