Abstract

Asthma mortality rates among Non-Hispanic Black individuals (NHB) and Puerto Rico residents (PR) are higher than non-Hispanic White individuals (NHW) in the United States of America (USA)1. This article evaluates variables related to asthma mortality to generate hypotheses to explain these disparities. We aimed to compare the place of death from asthma for NHW, NHB, Hispanics residing in the United States (USH), and PR, and the effect of number of comorbidities on the risk and place of death.
