  • In order to put these results into perspective and to address the impact of multiple comparisons on the significance threshold, the authors may consider providing measures of LD between markers

Introduction

We have read with interest the recent report by Gui and coworkers on the role of PITX3 variants in Parkinson’s disease [1]. The authors are proposing that a newly identified exonic variant is associated with the phenotype in Chinese patients but other variants are not. The data presented, generate more heat than light.
