Abstract

Low free testosterone (FT) levels are prevalent after orthotopic cardiac transplantation (OHT) and are associated with sexual dysfunction. Predictors of low FT levels included age, diabetes and prednisone use. Many patients with low FT levels have evidence of abnormal pituitary responses (inappropriately low leutenizing hormone (LH) and/or follicle stimulating hormone (FSH) levels).
