Abstract

A new method to extract pitch synchronous cepstrum (PSC) for robust speaker recognition over telephone channels is proposed. The proposed method analyses consecutive pitch periods to compensate for spectrum distortion. It also broadens formants to minimise loss of speaker characteristics for channel normalisation. Compared to the conventional cepstrum, PSC shows an error reduction rate of up to 10.9%.
