Abstract
Pipeline laying practice in the United States has progressed from field experience methods to recognized engineering technology. The development of pipeline procedures and practices is presented. Speed, mobility, skill and inventiveness of the pipeline men in general characterize pipeline work. Most pipeline equipment is developed in the field. Line-up clamps are an outstanding example of such equipment.
