Abstract

Rolling processes for both thick- and thin-walled pipe are simulated by means of DEFORM soft-ware. The change in shape of the metal over the length of the mill is considered. Means are discussed for reducing the probability of trihedral-funnel distortion, in which the internal diameter at the far end of the hollow pipe blank is increased.
