Abstract

Recent data on π production in NN collisions are compared to predictions from the Deck model. It is shown that the model fails spectacularly for Δσ L ( pp «r NNπ) and for the A LL parameter. This is typical for conventional π-exchange models. However, the Deck model with an admixture of a dibaryon resonance ( I = 1, J P = 3 −) leads to a satisfactory description of the data.
