Abstract
The mass shift of pions is discussed in a general class of unified gauge field theories of weak and electromagnetic interactions to second order of the coupling constants and to gi2/mi2 order, respectively. The contributions of both the leading and the next to leading light-cone singularities (quark mass terms) are calculated and it is shown that they do not give any divergent contribution to the pion mass difference.
