Abstract
Pion-induced double charge exchange (${\mathrm{\ensuremath{\pi}}}^{+}$,${\mathrm{\ensuremath{\pi}}}^{\mathrm{\ensuremath{-}}}$) on a target of $^{\mathrm{nat}}\mathrm{Se}$ has been investigated at a laboratory angle of 5\ifmmode^\circ\else\textdegree\fi{} and incident kinetic energies of 132, 166, and 294 MeV. Cross sections (and limits) have been extracted for the various ground-state transitions. The double isobaric analog state and several other excited states are also observed.
