Abstract

The intermediate range of heavy ion bombarding energies (20 MeV<E/A<l GeV) encompasses a large variety of reaction mechanisms from fusion at the lowest energies to almost complete explosion at the highest. Up until now, equation of state studies have been hampered by insufficient detailed information on some of the basic properties of the mechanisms. In the discussion below I will deal with a few of these problems. In particular, what can we learn about source size and shape from inclusive and semi-inclusive measurements?
