Abstract
AbstractOne of the sites which participated in the pilot exercise of environmental auditing under the EC's new Eco‐management and audit scheme was BSB Recycling GmbH at Braubach in Germany. This paper describes the experiences of the site with the pilot exercise with particular emphasis on the benefits which participation in the scheme has brought to the site and its parent companies. BSB and its parent companies are supporters of the concept of self‐regulation which forms the basis for this EC Regulation and an increasing number of legislative instruments for environmental protection.
