Abstract
Needle insertion and visualisation skills required for ultrasound (US)-guided procedures can be challenging. The novel NeedleTrainer device superimposes a digital holographic needle on a real-time US image display without a needle puncturing the surface. This randomised controlled study aimed to compare the success of trainees performing a simulated nerve block on a phantom with or without prior NeedleTrainer practice.
