Abstract
The pilar sheath acanthoma was first described in 1978. Ten examples have been reported, nine on the skin of the upper lip and one on the forehead. This is the first case reported on the lower lip. The pilar sheath acanthoma is considered a benign hamartoma with a level of differentiation between the trichofolliculoma and the dilated pore of Winer.
