Abstract

To the Editor: Pigmented purpuric dermatoses (PPD) are a group of chronic, persistent purpuric, variably pruritic eruptions occurring predominantly in men on the lower limbs, often in association with changes of chronic venous hypertension. PPD encompass the entities of Schamberg's disease, Gougerot–Blum disease, Majocchi's disease (purpura annularis telangiectoides), “itching purpura” (eczematid-like purpura), lichen aureus, unilateral linear capillaritis, and granulomatous pigmented purpuric dermatosis.
