Abstract

In this work, dopamine (DA) coated nano-TiO2 (DA@TiO2) modified polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) piezoelectric composite films (DA@TiO2/PVDF) with a high β-phase content are successfully fabricated by solvothermal method. The β-phase content of the DA2.0@TiO2/PVDF reaches 84.33%. Furthermore, DA2.0@TiO2/PVDF has the highest crystallinity (Xc) and melting enthalpy (ΔH). Due to synergistic effect between DA and TiO2, the piezoelectric coefficients (d33) and remnant polarization (Pr) of DA2.0@TiO2/PVDF composite films increase by up to 163% and 278% than that of the pure PVDF film, respectively. This work provides a new method to present promise in broadening nanometer preparation technology and improving performance of piezoelectric composites, and contributes to the study on new curved panel energy harvesters for aeroelastic vibration.
