Abstract

The ferroelectric-ferroelectric transition characteristics of rhombohedral xPbZrO3–yPb(Zn1/3Nb2/3)O3–zPbTiO3 ceramics are described. The temperature dependence of oscillation frequency of a surface acoustic wave delay line oscillator shows an abrupt change of about 2000 ppm/°C and thermal hysteresis around the transition temperature. The ceramics are highly sensitive to temperature variation and electric field. The composition exhibiting a desired transition in the temperature range of -10∼100 °C is possible. These piezoelectric characteristics are useful from the viewpoint of sensor technology.
