A synanthropic locality of the pokeweed was found near the village Jankowice Wielkie (Olszanka commune, Brzeg district, Opole Silesia province, SW Poland) on 27.07.2022 (Figs 1, 2). Fruiting individuals were observed in a dry ditch with a row of old mulberry Morus alba on a roadsides near a poultry farm. To date, it has never been recorded in the wild in south-western Poland.
