Abstract

In CIM, obstruction of the outflow of cerebrospinal fluid at the foramen magnum caused by tonsillar herniation may give rise to transitory high intracranial pressure accounting for papilloedema, even in the absence of hydrocephalus [1]. Therefore, I think that it is important to rule out the presence of papilloedema in the neurological examination, although the authors fail to give information regarding the neuro-ophthalmological examination.
