AbstractRetail ‐ Furniture &Home Furnishings (MIC: 5.9 SIC: 5712 NAIC:442110)Pier 1 Imports is a retailer of decorative home furnishings, furniture, dining and kitchen goods, bath and bedding accessories and other specialty items for the home imported from over 40 countries. As of May 31 2003, Co. operated Pier 1 Imports® stores in 50 states, Canada, Puerto Rico, and Mexico; The Pier® stores in the U.K.; and Cargokids® in six states. Also, Co. supplies merchandise and licenses the Pier 1 Imports name to Sears Mexico and Sears Puerto Rico, which sell Pier 1 merchandise in a “store‐within‐a‐store” format in 17 Sears Mexico stores and in seven Sears Puerto Rico stores.
