AbstractRetail — Furniture & Home Furnishings (MIC: 5.9 SIC: 5719 NAIC: 442299)Pier 1 Imports is a North American specialty retailer of decorative home furnishings, gifts and related items. Co. imports merchandise directly from over 40 countries and sells a variety of furniture collections, decorative accessories, bed and bath products, housewares and other seasonal assortments in its stores. In addition, Co. operates stores in the U.S. and Canada under the names “Pier 1 Imports” and “Pier 1 Kids.” Pier 1 Kids stores sell children's home furnishings and decorative accessories. As of Feb 25 2006, Co. operated 1,304 stores in the U.S., Canada, Puerto Rico, the U.K., Ireland and Mexico.
