Abstract

The Dommel-Tinney approach to the calculation of optimal power system load flews has proved to be very powerful and general. However, applicability of the method is limited to the system that can be accommodated on the available computer. This paper presents an effective method involving diaĸoptics which extends applicability of the Dommel-Tinney approach on the larger systems. It provides an alternative method for solution of optimal load flew problem. A detailed tearing algorithm and solution steps are given for actual application. The effectiveness of the method has been demonstrated by applying to sample systems.
