Abstract
Piecewise linear function of more variables can be expressed using zero-one variables subject to additional linear constraints. Therefore some non-linear programming problems can be approximated by linear mixed integer programming problems. This can be used in the optimization of business processes and in the quadratic mixed integer programming.
