Abstract
A70-year-old woman presented with this lesion on her lip. She had had it for 2–3 years but it was increasing in size and friends were causing embarrassment for her by their comments. It caused her no problems, but it had recently bled quite heavily when she caught it on her fork when eating. On examination, the edges of the lesion were well demarcated and the surface was smooth. The blue/purple papule was soft and could be easily compressed.
