Abstract

It is shown that picosecond coherence experiments can be used to study optical dynamics in doped semiconductors and molecular solids. In the system GaP:N, picosecond photon echoes are used studies exciton relaxation and detrapping into the free exciton band. In the molecular mixed crystal of pentacene in naphthalene, two-color stimulated photon echoes are employed as a probe for vibrational deactivation.
