Abstract

Picosecond time-resolved spectra of spontaneous luminescence from high density electron-hole plasma (EHP) in CdSe are measured at 4.2K with changing excitation photon energy in the vicinity of the bandgap energy. It is found that the EHP is kept hot until the very late stage in the whole range of excitation photon energy as a result of the phonon-assisted Auger process. Dynamic nature of the EHP is discussed taking account of time= resolved spectra measured at 77K.
