Abstract
The dynamical behavior of a stibazolium betaine (M) and its protonated form (MH +) in their excited singlet states (S 1) was studied using picosecond laser flash photolysis. From the time-resolved transient spectra direct evidence was obtained for the deprotonation of trans-MH + in the S 1 state, competing with isomerization.
