Picone identities for half-linear elliptic operators with [formula omitted]-Laplacians and applications to Sturmian comparison theory

Abstract

Picone identities are established for a class of half-linear elliptic operators with p ( x ) -Laplacians, and Sturmian comparison theorems are obtained on the basis of the Picone identities. Specializations to half-linear partial or ordinary differential inequalities with p ( x ) -Laplacians are shown.
