PICO Summary: Does early surfactant administration with brief mechanical ventilation (less than 1h) followed by extubation compared to later selective surfactant administration, continued mechanical ventilation, and extubation from low respiratory support lead to decreased need for assisted ventilation and lung injury in spontaneously breathing infants with signs of RDS?
