Abstract

The stereochemistry of pancracine, from HIPPEASTRUM VITTATUM, has been fully characterized as free base and as its O, O-di-acetate by means of spectroscopic analyses and CD-data. Carbon magnetic resonance data provide a simple tool in differentiating the contained montanine skeleton from other alkaloid ring systems within the Amaryllidaceae.
