Abstract

Phytochemical study on the whole plant of Trollius ranunculoides Hemsl. led to the isolation of fifteen compounds, which could be divided into ten flavonoids (1–10), three phenolic acids (11–13) and two sterols (14–15). These isolates were elucidated based on NMR, HR-ESI-MS, UV, IR and CD data. This is the first report on chemical composition of T. ranunculoides. Compounds 1–15 were previously isolated from th genus Trollius. The chemotaxonomic significance of these isolates was also discussed.
