Abstract

Summary
During 1989 and 1990, physiotherapists in 22 paediatric burns centres in the United Kingdom were surveyed about various aspects of the management of burned children with the emphasis on physiotherapy. The data show that widely differing approaches and techniques are used. The main issues identified have been translated into recommendations for standards of care and proposals for evaluation and rationalisation of treatment.
