Abstract

Summary This paper explains some of the aetiology of anorexia nervosa and the thinking processes that are peculiar to anorexics; and explores the rationale for physiotherapeutic techniques. It is based on practical experience of working with sufferers, listening to them identify the problems they have with their bodies, and trying to adapt techniques of relaxation and body awareness to meet their needs.
