Abstract

The basic functions of female reproduction are reviewed to detect possible mechanisms for fertility control programs. Species differences in the nervous regulation of sexual functions as well as the anatomical and physiological differences between species cause problems in applied research. Vulnerable mechanisms include ovulation fertilization nidation hormonal changes and prostaglandins.
