Abstract
Summary The agronomic and physiological response of cotton to deficient irrigation as well as its influence on yield quality was determined. Plant growth expressed as plant height and accumulation of fresh weight was significantly affected by water deficit. Nevertheless, neither seed cotton yield nor lint quality were decreased. Turgor pressure was maintained positive for the entire growth cycle. The relationship between growth and yield parameters is discussed.
