Abstract

Superconducting phenomena and their applications to electronic devices are reviewed with an emphasis on a high Tc superconductor. After a short mention of fundamentals of superconductivity, characteristics of Josephson junction (J-J) are discussed where current-voltage (I-V) and differential conductance-voltage (dI/dV-V) curves are involved as well as the indispensable conditions for J-J. Subsequently, recent developments on high Tc super-conducting devices are followed. Of these, an all high Tc Josephson junction and a proximity effect with an extraordinary long penetration depth are included, besides the I-V & dI/dV-V curves, Shapiro steps, SQUID, etc. Lastly, a simple technique preparing high Tc films is shortly mentioned.
