Abstract

High-temperature solutions of the K2O-P2O5-TiO2-WO3 system have been investigated. The concentration and temperature regions within which spontaneous crystallization of KTiOPO4 (KTP) proceeds in these solutions are determined. The dynamic viscosity, density, volumetric expansion coefficient and volatility of a series of solutions in the crystallization region of KTP are measured. The results obtained are compared with data on solutions of the K2O-P2O5-TiO2 system. The advantages and disadvantages of the two kinds of solutions are discussed.
