Abstract

The Response of Polyvinyl Alcohol (PVA)/ Zinc Oxide (ZnO) based on Polymer composite films. Polymer films of were prepared by solution casting technique at room temperature. Characterized by different characterization techniques by XRD, FTIR, UV– visible spectroscopy, and Mechanical Properties. Also, we had studied the optical properties of PVA/ZnO composites based on ZnO as inorganic filler material and PVA as the main matrix. The prepared samples were determined by UV-Visible Spectrophotometer (UV-Vis), XRD, Morphology and universal Testing Machine (UTM) to study the optical and Mechanical Properties. The crystal structure and crystallinity of polymer composites were studied by XRD. The recorded spectra of UV-Visible absorption and Transmission spectra have been used to determine the optical band gap (Eg) of PVA/ZnO thin films. Reduction in optical band gap and increase in optical band gap with increase in concentration were observed. It is also found that there is an increase in dielectric constant with increase in photon energy. The obtained results reveal that the refractive index of the PVA/ZnO films may be efficiently changed.
