Abstract

Bauhinia forficata essential oil showed good extraction yield. The CG-MS analysis showed 5 major compounds α-copaene, geraniol, α-bisabolene, caryophyllene and germacrene A. The percentage of mycelial inhibition in vitro showed higher sensitivity for S. sclerotiorum and A. flavus strains, the opposite was observed in C. gloeosporioides that showed to be more resistant to essential oil concentrations. Future work may be carried out by evaluating the essential oil of B. forficata flowers in a greenhouse and in the field by sprinkling or encapsulated micro or nano.
