Abstract

Physicochemical evaluation is the parameters to evaluate the presence of inorganic ion fraction in the drug whereas the phytochemical screening enables to find out the presence of total phytoconstituents in the drug material. Both Physicochemical and Phytochemical evaluation are use to evaluate the drug by comparing it with the standard parameters. The present study is therefore focused on the evaluation of physicochemical (ash value and extractive values) values of the leave powder and Phytochemical screening of the ethanolic extract of Pistacia integerrima stew ex brand. The Phytochemical screening showed the presence of tannins, alkaloids, saponins, carbohydrates and glycosides phenolic compounds, gum and mucilage whereas protein and amino acids were found to be absent.
