Abstract

Collagen is a long-chain protein compound composed of the amino acids alanine, arginine, lysine, glycine, proline, and hiroxyproline and from fishery waste, like a fish skin. This Research aims to determine the physical and chemical characteristics as well as the antibacterial activity of solid soap with the addition of tuna skin collagen and uses an experimental method (experimental) with several treatments of adding collagen. The results showed that the physical and chemical characteristics of solid soap were stability foam stability from 16.55 mm to 84.61 mm, water content ranging from 21.66 - 27.79%, pH 10.69 - 11.78, and free alkaline 1.22 - 1.92, Antibacterial activity against Staphylococcus aureus, was found in sample A2 with a diamater inhibitory zone is of 20.5 mm (very strong).
