Abstract

Researchers have attempted to determine systematically the relative importance to physicians of various sources of pharmaceutical information for about 50 years. This article summarizes the findings of this body of research to determine historical changes in the sources of information. The results indicate significant changes in this area. Implications of these changes for the pharmaceutical marketing manager are discussed.
