Abstract

(Abstracted from Am J Obstet Gynecol 2022; doi: 10.1016/j.ajog.2022.09.039) Several studies have demonstrated that contraception (including emergency contraception [EC]) does not disrupt an existing pregnancy. Contraceptives prevent pregnancy before fertilization; yet, many individuals who oppose abortion state or believe that contraceptives are abortifacients (ie, substances that cause the termination of an implanted fertilized egg).
