Abstract

Novel classes of physical-interrelated-based preconditioners are proposed for the linear systems arising from electromagnetic scattering and radiation problems. These preconditioners, which are based on solving small linear systems at each node, reduce the number of iterations significantly. Applications in the paper show the effectiveness of this method in microwave scattering calculations with results computed via a multilevel fast multipole algorithm, and microwave radiation calculations for slot array and base-station antenna.
