Abstract

Background: The proportion of the elderly with heart failure (HF) is growing in Japanese society. Moreover, cognitive impairment (CI) is common in elderly patients with HF, and results in worsening outcomes because of poor disease management. Physical dysfunction is also common in patients with HF. The severity of HF is related to CI. The relation of physical function to cognitive condition is not fully understood yet.
