Abstract

The following physical parameters have been computed for the atmosphere of Uranus from 0 to 140 km altitude, above the top of the clouds (P = 1000 mbar): 1) temperature; 2) pressure; 3) density; 4) number density; 5) viscosity; 6) speed of sound; 7) pressure scale; 8) mean free path; 9) density scale; and 10) mean particle velocity. These parameters are deduced from Voyager's recent observations of Uranus. The H 2/He ratio is taken from Voyager's recent observations of Uranus /1/. Temperature profiles at various latitudes have been retrieved at Meudon Observatory from infrared spectra recorded by the IRIS experiment aboard Voyager. In addition, the thermal profiles deduced from radio occultation measurements about 6° – 7° latitude have also been considered.
