Abstract

Front Cover: In article number 2200343, Robert J. Clements, Elda Hegmann and co-workers present a photo-crosslinkable smectic-A liquid crystal elastomer (LCE) designed for 3D printing. X-ray diffraction data indicate a steady orientation of the LC units within the 3D structure with the LCE layer normal oriented perpendicular to the printed strut surfaces. This LCE transfers its anisotropic properties to cells, inducing cell anisotropy relevant for numerous tissues.
