Abstract

1. The load-bearing and service capacity of the joints of precast reinforced-concrete members of hydraulic structures substantially depend on consideration of the creep and shrinkage strains of concrete when calculating and designing them. 2. The forces with consideration of creep and shrinkage strains in the joints can be determined on the basis of formulas (9), (10), (11). 3. Experimental investigations on models conducted to study the effect of creep and shrinkage strains on the stress state of joints of precast reinforced concrete should be carried out on the basis of the laws of similarity with the use of dimensionless numbers described by formulas (4)–(7), (12).
